Safe Space

St. Norbert College, committed to providing caring responses to students and colleagues who experience gender-based violence, has a dedicated space where community members can feel safe, welcome and comfortable, specifically after a gender-based violence incident.

The Safe Space, located in Todd Wehr Hall above the bookstore (room 224), allows students, faculty, staff and alumni to share and discuss thoughts or stories and to confide in others about the effect of gender-based violence in their lives and in the campus community. It is a trauma-informed space and a sanctuary for those in need.

The Safe Space is open to SNC community members, both survivors and supporters, during regular business hours. It is also the home of St. Norbert College’s Survivor Support Groups and schedule.

VAWA Grant

The Safe Space is an initiative resulting from VAWA grant work at St. Norbert College.

Safe Space  Dedication

St. Norbert College’s new Safe Space was dedicated in October 2021. Community members also participated in a candlelight vigil in support of survivors of gender-based violence.
