Summer Orientation

Kick-off your success

Every summer, new students are invited to join us to kick off their college experience. Summer Orientation is your chance to meet some of your classmates, learn about campus resources and find out about life on campus. Registration for classes is separate via a Zoom meeting with an academic advisor.

Orientation overview

Academic Advisement: Meet with an advisor and discuss your interests and goals starting in May through July. They’ll share course options with you and help you register for classes, all from home.

Orientation program: Join us on campus for a daylong experience in June that will give you information about campus resources, tours of residence halls and the opportunity to meet several of your new classmates. There will be sessions for both students and family members. We encourage you to bring a family member as there is one set of sessions for students and another set of sessions for family members.

There is a separate schedule for students and families. You'll receive printed copies when you arrive for orientation.

Orientation program

You are encouraged to bring one family member with you to Summer Orientation. Orientation sessions focus on tips for college parents, payment plans, housing contracts and meal plans. Your guest can tour the residence halls, too.

There are four different opportunities to attend orientation in June. Each session has a limited enrollment, and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible when registration opens on Feb. 1 to have the best chance of getting your top choice. Sign up will be open beginning on Feb. 1 to students who have submitted their enrollment deposit.
