Awards of Distinction

The Awards of Distinction require an application packet that includes your resume and a personal statement. The Ashmore and Harvey Memorial Scholarship requires an additional essay.

Please note, not all awards are offered yearly and the actual dollar amount may vary from year to year depending on endowment income. The amounts listed below reflect what was awarded last year.

Ashmore and Harvey Memorial Scholarship

Sophomore/Junior

Participation in co-curricular activities, student government or community affairs.

Ethel D. Augustine Memorial Fund Award

Senior

Active service, leadership and volunteerism within the span of the global community such as organizing student volunteer projects, providing for basic human needs, new outreach and leadership projects, etc.

Donald and Judy Henrickson Family Outreach Award

Senior

Cash award, $300

Active service, leadership and volunteerism within the span of the global community such as organizing student volunteer projects, providing for basic human needs, new outreach and leadership projects, etc. Open and ecumenical attitude toward all spiritual traditions.

Class of 1989 Leadership in Action Scholarship

Junior

Scholarship, $1,600

Student who has helped create positive change at SNC and has demonstrated leadership within a campus organization, internship, work or community service.

Mel Nicks Award

Sophomore/Junior

Cash award (2), $450 each

Active service, leadership and volunteerism within the college and/or span of the global community such as organizing student sports or other activities, fundraising for college programs, providing for basic human needs, new outreach and leadership projects, etc. The Mel Nicks Award will be used to honor two students in recognition of their extraordinary service to the College and Community. Preference will be given to student athletes.

Richard C. Rankin Legacy Award

Senior

A senior who made significant or unique contributions to enhance student life on campus.

Sally Thompson Endowed Scholarship

Voss Leadership Award
