Children 2.5 & Young 3-year Olds
The St. Norbert childcare program is a place for children to play, make friends and feel safe … but not just that. We take a thoughtful, well-planned approach to your child’s early development – one that gives them the support and confidence they need to explore, learn and grow. 'Play' is a child's work. It fosters social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Children are competent, capable, and full of potential. The teacher merely acts as facilitator and observer, rather than the 'director' of learning. The environment acts as the child's third teacher; it is a safe, warm, and inviting space that encourages exploration and autonomy. Partnering with families is imperative in order to respect cultural backgrounds and build a connected community.
Our play-based curriculum is built on these beliefs, which are, in turn, strongly influenced by Wisconsin Early Learning Standards (WMELS), Creative Curriculum, and the Nat'l Association for the Education of Young Children.
