Readmission

Students who withdraw, stop attending, or leave the College for any reason and then later wish to return to St. Norbert College, must formally apply for readmission.

Application Process

Students are automatically readmitted if they:

  • Were in good academic, social, and financial standing
  • Did not withdraw, and
  • Have not attended another post-secondary institution since leaving

Readmission Checklist:

  1. Complete and submit the readmission application
  2. Make housing arrangements with Residential Life
  3. Settle all financial obligations
  4. Provide official transcripts (if applicable) to the Registrar
  5. Document activities undertaken since leaving the College

Readmission After Poor Academic Performance

Students who left due to academic difficulties may apply for readmission after one full semester away. Approval depends on evidence of readiness to succeed and complete a degree.

Criteria for Readmission Evaluation:

  • Insight into Previous Academic Struggles
    • The student must demonstrate awareness of the factors that led to academic failure.
  • Positive Change in Circumstances
    • Evidence must show that previous barriers to success have been meaningfully addressed or resolved.
  • Productive Use of Time Away
    • The student should show they have used their time away constructively. This may include:
      •  Work experience
      •  Volunteer efforts
      •  Personal development
    • Statements from employers or others may be requested to verify this
  • Academic Improvement (If Applicable)

If the student completed any coursework elsewhere, their academic performance must show significant improvement.

Readmission After Medical or Mental Health Withdrawal

Students who withdrew for medical or mental health reasons must receive a recommendation from St. Norbert College Health & Wellness Services as part of the readmission process.

To Qualify for Readmission, Students Must Complete One of the Following:

  • Submit Medical Documentation
    • Provide documentation from a licensed healthcare provider to either:
      •  The Senior Director of Health and Wellness Services, or
      •  The Senior Director of Counseling and Psychological Services
    • The documentation must confirm that the condition which led to the withdrawal has been appropriately addressed and that successful completion of coursework is anticipated.
  • Meet with College Health Officials
    • Schedule a meeting with one of the senior directors listed above
    • Review medical records with them to determine eligibility for readmission
