St. Norbert College uses a 4.00 grade point system. Grades are recorded permanently and represent the quality of a student's academic work.

Grading Notes

  • Permanent Record: All grades are part of the student’s permanent academic record.
  • Grade Changes: Grades may not be changed more than one year after assignment.
  • Academic Misconduct: Academic dishonesty, judicial sanctions, or poor performance may result in transcript notations.
  • Credit Limitations: Credit may only be earned once for the same or equivalent course.
  • GPA Calculation: Only grades A through D and F are used to calculate GPA. Grades of W, I, NR, IP, AU, S, U, and CT are not included.

  • Satisfactory Academic Progress: Grades of NT, S, and U are counted toward total attempted credits.
  • Graduate Projects: Master’s theses and advocacy projects are graded Satisfactory (S) or Unsatisfactory (U).
  • Military Activation: Students called to active duty receive a grade of GI. No credit or quality points are awarded.
