Purpose

This process plan outlines a transparent and equitable approach to reviewing applicants who disclose criminal or disciplinary histories during the admissions process. This process applies to all individuals applying to undergraduate or graduate programs at St. Norbert College, including transfer and international students.
Disciplinary Review Committee
The DRC is chaired by the Assistant Director of Judicial Affairs and Residential Education and Housing and includes representatives from Admissions and Campus Safety.
Disclosure Requirments
Applicants must self-disclose any criminal convictions, pending charges, or significant disciplinary actions on the admissions application. This information is used solely for assessing the applicant’s readiness and suitability for the college community.
Academic Review
Applications are first evaluated on academic merit, extracurricular engagement, and personal achievements. Disclosed histories are not considered during this initial review to ensure fairness.
Referral for Secondary Review
Once deemed academically qualified, applicants with disclosed histories are referred to the Disciplinary Review Committee (DRC) for further evaluation.
