Schneider Family Hall (St. Norbert College)

With the start of the school year comes countless new things. Personally and academically, individuals are surrounded by opportunities and spaces that will shape them throughout the year to come. For the students at SNC, one of these academic additions comes in the form of the new business building, Schneider Family Hall.

This project has been in the works for over two years, and beginning this fall, students are finally able to utilize the space. When the project was first announced, it was met with great excitement from the students on campus. It is the first significant addition to come to the campus in a number of years, and students are very pleased with the results. The addition also reflects the increasing shift towards business- and economics-based programs at the college. As budget cuts continue at the school, SNC has chosen to cut many liberal arts programs and gear their opportunities more towards business students.

Many humanities students will remain housed in the old, historic Boyle Hall, while business students will move to the new building. However, even those who do not take classes in the new building, may find themselves in Schneider Hall at one point or another. Not only does the building house classrooms, but it is also home to a number of study spots and meeting areas. The contemporary design keeps students in mind, offering various collaborative and conference style spaces. It will ensure that the use of the building will extend beyond academics, serving as a hub on campus for decades to come.

In light of all the cuts actively occurring at SNC, Schneider Family Hall looks to steer students away from the bleak changes happening on campus and shift their focus to the future. Likely a draw for prospective business students around the area, Schneider Family Hall ushers SNC into the future, rebranding the nature of the college and reflecting their actively shifting program offerings.
