Coffee shops are a long time favorite study location for college students. Coffee shops and cafes offer a change of scenery, a lively environment that can make students more productive or engaged. They also offer a wide variety of food and drinks that can be a compelling reason to make the trek off campus.

Since St. Norbert is such a small campus, it can be easy to quickly exhaust all of the good study spots. That can leave students longing for a change of scenery. Downtown De Pere offers students who are looking to add a little variance to their study routines a number of options within walking distance of campus. I will be highlighting two spots that are a long time student favorite: Luna Coffee Roasters and The Exchange.

The Exchange is a good option if you are looking for a more sit-down, spacious study area. This spot has large tables and a lot of space if you want to separate yourself from the crowds. Another draw to The Exchange is their menu. In addition to coffee and a number of other drinks, they have a creative food menu. Students who plan on spending a few hours on their assignments are sure to find something on the menu that they like.

Luna Coffee Roasters is a slightly different environment. Luna is more resemblant of a traditional coffee shop: tables are closer together, and the seating is more limited. However, it gives customers a great opportunity to interact with and observe the local community. Like The Exchange, Luna also serves breakfast and lunch; however, their primary focus is drinks. They have a large coffee menu, with a number of signature flavors. They are also well known for their smoothies, a good option for all the non-coffee drinkers who may find their way there.

Although these spots are only two of many great study spots to be explored around the greater De Pere community, they offer an idea of the many local options available to students. When you are in college, it can be a challenge to find the time to get off campus and explore. Finding local study spots is the perfect way to engage with the community in a productive and engaging way.
