The 2025-2026 Series:
(1) The Story of Her Life: Kurt Voss led our first CWC by telling the story of Cassie’s life and legacy.
(2) What Makes a Joke Funny? Dr. Sydney Keough invited us to consider whether the moral quality of a joke ever makes a difference to its aesthetic quality. Are offensive jokes less funny for being offensive?
(3) The Fate of Ophelia: Fr. Neilson traced imagery of Shakespeare's Ophelia from the 17th century to Taylor Swift's recent music video.
(4) Films that Change Your Life: Dr. Meghan Walsh led discussion about the ways that films connect to our sense of belonging in a community & augment our abilities to understand each other.
(5) Books that Change Your Life: Dr. David Poister led discussion about the ways that books end up shaping one's own life story
(6) Morality is More Than a Matter of Taste: Logan Ashby ’27 presented philosophical research he’s conducted as a Cassandra Voss Center student worker examining subjectivist and objective theories of morality
