(Sorry if you've received this already! I'm still working out some of the kinks on my end for sending these emails.)
I can't believe that it's almost time for everyone to be back on campus! I hope you've had a relaxing summer. In case you've never received one of these emails before, this is set to go to all student organization officers and advisors that are on record in mySNC. If you are no longer an officer or advisor for a student organization, your group needs to update their mySNC page.
I have a couple of items that we've been getting some questions about and I wanted to get out some updates. You'll get another before classes begin.
1. We're in the process of interviewing canddiates for the Assistant Director for Student Engagement role that Chris Stewart held prior to his departure for a position at UWGB. I hope to have an update about a new hire prior to classes (although they might not be on campus prior to classes).
2. The Involvement Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on the Campus Center lawn. In case of bad weather, we'll use Thursday, Sept. 14 as our rain date. We'll be in touch about whether or not we'll have to use the rain date. If your group would like a table at the Involvement Fair, please complete this Google form.
3. We expect every student organization to have a representative attend our virtual OrgConnect meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 30 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The calendar invitation is below and you'll need to pre-register for the Zoom link. You will not be able to have a table at the Involvement Fair if you do not have a representative at OrgConnect.
4. If you're looking or your annual allocation, you can now find them in your student organization page. Go to Files, then click on the Financial Folder. If you want to see your budget, click on the Money tab. More information on teh budget and budgeting process will be covered in the Fall.
5. Feel free to start scheduling events for your student organizations in mySNC. I will be the person approving those events so please be patient as I'm getting more acclimated to mySNC.
6. The Packers organization is looking for groups to hand out giveaways before home games. Your group can earn $600 to do this. The staff in the front office sent this email:
"I am reaching out to the St. Norbert College Student Engagement Organization Staff because the 2023-24 Green Bay Packers schedule is approaching quickly and we still have distribution group opportunities available for the upcoming season. I am reaching out as we still have gate distribution opportunities available on gamedays. I have attached additional information regarding the giveaway opportunity.
We are looking for a school or a student organization that is available for any regular season games (including Family Night in early August and our preseason games on August 19th and August 26th) at this time and your school/team/organization that assists would receive $600 per game for distributing the giveaway items. If you could let me know if your group would have any interest in distributing giveaway items it would be greatly appreciated! We can also setup a meeting to further discuss everything the distributions group do! Please note that these opportunities are provided on a first come, first serve basis."
