I hope you all had a great Homecoming week! We were very excited about the attendance at all of the events. Here are updates for this week.
1. Showing movies
If your student organization is interested in showing a movie, you must purchase the public performance copyright permission to do so. The cost depends on the movie - who the movie was produced by (Disney movies are pricey) and how old the movie is (the newer the movie, the more it costs). The terms of agreement that you agreed to for your Netflix, Hulu or other streaming services make clear that you are only to access their shows/movies for your individual household to watch. The agreement says that they can prosecute people that don't follow the terms of agreement. To make arrangements to show a movie or ask questions about the public performance copyright permission, contact John Seckel at john.seckel@snc.edu or 920-403-4014.
2. Upcoming EDI Events
Please consider attending A Conversation with Sherrilyn Ifill, Grief Upon Grief, or Fiesta! this week. All three count as EDI events. Be sure to have your members check in at any event that they attend. The events are linked below.
3. LeaderShop
There's a LeaderShop this week about how to plan an event on campus. Feel free to send members or eboard members that could use a refresher or just need to learn how to effectively plan events. That event is also linked below.
4. Blood Drive
The American Red Cross is looking for a student organization to partner with them in planning the blood drives that occur on campus once per semester. The drives are scheduled for Dec. 7 and Feb. 20. They need a group that can do the following:
a. promote the blood drive around campus (materials provided)
b. help volunteer the event if possible
c. recruit donors and sign them up on their online scheduling system
d. welcome and thank donors for their support
If your group is interested, let Shelly Mumma know (shelly.mumma@snc.edu) and she can connect you with the American Red Cross.
5. SGA State of the College (Town Hall) Event
SGA is sponsoring their annual State of the College event and they're looking for questions in advance. You or your members can complete this form to ask questions of administration members like the president, VPs, or others at St. Norbert. This form is anonymous- SGA's intention is to get questions answered from any students who have them, so students should feel free to be as honest as possible on this form.
