Two weeks until Spring Break!
Can you believe it? It's the last week of February and only two weeks until Spring Break! We just got back for spring semester! Let us know if you have questions about anything and have a great week!
1. Social Media Officers
If you've elected new social media officers, you must have your officers fill out this Google form. It is required that the Office of Communications has a record of the information on the form; please have it filled out by April 26, 2024.
I would greatly appreciate your help with this! My office prefers to have the most up-to-date information on all our affiliated social media accounts in case we need to step in or if the login information needs to be passed along for any reason.
Let Hannah Kruse know if you have any questions or would like to chat separately about this.
2. Student Group Performers
Does your student group perform for others, like singing, dancing, etc.? The Council of Independent Colleges is looking for student performers at their meeting in the Twin Cities on June 13. If you're interested, email shelly.mumma@snc.edu and we'll share additional information with you.
3. Easter Card Writers
As volunteers are able (deadline: March 15) A member of JOSHUA’s Spiritual Leaders Caucus is organizing an effort to send an Easter card to every man and woman housed in our local Brown County Jail this season. You can purchase inexpensive cards or make them yourself with plain paper. Please follow these guidelines: no envelopes, use ink pen to sign (first name only), no glitter on the cards, no magic marker, no glued-on decorations or stickers, no crayons, and please print any message you write. It is OK to add a short message or a Bible verse for them to look up in their Bibles. Contact Caitlin Haynes for drop-off/pick-up details at 920-301-0022 or joshua4justice@gmail.com.
4. Communio in Action Service Event
The Sturzl Center for Community Service & Learning invites staff, faculty, and students to join us for Communio In Action on the afternoon of March 1. Join us for a lunch-and-learn at 12:30pm in the CVC with staff from We All Rise African-American Resource Center. After lunch, members of the SNC community will partner with All-Seasons Transformation House and We All Rise African-American Resource Center to continue renovating transitional housing for under-resourced members of our community. Service work will include painting, cleaning, and moving debris and furniture. Staff who join are encouraged to use the volunteer time off afforded by the college. Transportation will be provided from campus at 1:30pm and returning to campus at 4:30pm. The event will go from 12:30-6:00 pm. You are invited to participate in all or part of the service opportunity. Some people may be painting, please dress accordingly. Please register for "Communio in Action".
5. Graduation Cords, Pins & Stoles
The Commencement Committee has listened to your feedback! The form you complete in order to gain approval for academic regalia for your student organization has added an option to choose to purchase stoles for Commencement. You will need to comlete this form by Friday, March 14.
