What you need to know!
We hope you had a relaxing summer and wanted to be sure to get some information to you as the semester gets started!
1. OrgConnect meeting
All student organizations must have a representative attend the virtual OrgConnect meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 5:00 p.m. We'll go over policies and procedures (there have been a few changes!), changes in the Center for Student Engagement and other information relevant to student organizations. Please register on mySNC to get the Zoom link to attend.
2. Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Program
We've got an EDI program scheduled immediately and you may want to go ahead and have your members attend to cross off one requirment before the semester gets really stressful. Take a look at Which Lives Matter? by speaker Monti Washington on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. in Walter Theatre.
3. Involvement Fair
If you'd like a table at the Involvement Fair, you need to register using this Google form by 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5. For a student organization to have a table at the fair, they must have a representative attend the OrgConnect meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The Involvement Fair takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on the Campus Center Lawn. If there's inclement weather, the fair will be moved to Thursday, Sept. 14 at the same time and place.
4. Officer Updates
If you are no longer an officer for your student organization, that means that your group needs to update their mySNC page. As soon as the group updates the officers on mySNC, the email list dynamically changes. Be sure to update your officers as soon as possible.
5. Advisor Agreement
Every organization is required to have an SNC employee as their advisor. And, every advisor must sign an Advisor Agreement by Oct. 1 each year. If an employee is an advisor for more than one student organization, they must sign the agreement separately for each organization.
We're so glad to have you back! Have a great first day and be sure to stop and get your photo taken under the arch in the morning!
