What does it mean to be human in an age of AI? Join us for a thought-provoking Lunch & Learn as the Office of Mission and Heritage and Information Technology Services (ITS) come together to explore Antiqua et Nova, the Vatican Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith's recently released Note on the Relationship Between Artificial Intelligence and Human Intelligence.

This document invites us to reflect on how the rapid advancement of AI intersects with questions of human dignity, ethical responsibility, and the nature of intelligence itself, themes that sit at the heart of both our institutional mission and our technological future. Together, we will unpack its key themes, consider their implications for our community, and open the floor for discussion across disciplines and perspectives.

It would be helpful for participants to read the document before attending, paying special attention to the section on AI and Education (paragraph 77+), but not required. The document can be found at this link: https://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_ddf_doc_20250128_antiqua-et-nova_en.html

A complimentary meal from Ruth's Marketplace will be provided, so please RSVP!
