It is finally May and, therefore, the end of the school year. Students will take their finals from May 6 through May 10 before the school year officially ends. With classes all finished, the tests are the last obstacles students face before a deserved break comes summer. For seniors, their school year, and their undergraduate years, will be capped at the May 12 commencement ceremony.
On Friday, May 3, a picnic was held in front of the campus center to celebrate the end of classes and provide last-minute respite before students take their tests. In the evening of the first day of tests, SNC faculty members will make breakfast for students as is custom. Then, after the tests, the residence halls will be emptied out as students leave for summer.
The year has seen a new president, the 125th anniversary of the college’s founding, funding cuts across the college, protests to said cuts and much more. After such a whirlwind of a year, it is best to relax and recharge. Happy summer, folks!
