Literacy Green Bay Volunteering Event

Turn Conversations Into Confidence!

Sometimes the best way to learn English is simply to talk, laugh, listen, and practice with someone who’s willing to have a conversation. Literacy Green Bay works with immigrants and refugees who are building their English skills and confidence. In conversation groups, students can practice speaking English in a relaxed, welcoming environment—and we’re looking for friendly volunteers to help make the conversation happen!

You don’t need teaching or tutoring experience. All you need is a willingness to connect, listen, ask questions, and keep the conversation flowing. Literacy Green Bay will provide fun topic-starters, so you can focus on what matters most: connecting with students and helping them feel confident using their English.

As a Conversation Group Volunteer, you’ll help students:

-Practice real-world conversational English
-Express their ideas and opinions with confidence
-Build self-assurance in everyday communication
-Connect with others and feel more comfortable speaking English
