Board games available to borrow
Are you interested in playing a board game with friends, your residence hall floor or student organization? The Center for Student Engagement has a whole library of board games that you can borrow for free.
The following games are available: Arkham Horror, Azul, Carcassone, Catan, Code Names, Dead Winter, Galaxy Trucker, Jaipur, Just One, Love Letter, Ohanami, Pandemic, Splendor, Ticket to Ride, The Mind, Unlock! and 7 Wonders.
You can reserve games by emailing studentengagement@snc.edu or by coming to the Center for Student Engagement office (Campus Center 330). The office is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month
SNC will celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month throughout October. This year’s campaign theme revisits the basics of cybersecurity and demonstrates that everyone is responsible for their own online behavior.
The awareness campaign will focus on the “people” part of cybersecurity, providing information and resources to help educate SNC community members and help ensure everyone makes smart decisions whether on the job, at home or at school – now and in the future.

- Tuesday, Oct. 10, 10:45-11:45 a.m., in Health Services
- Thursday, Oct. 12, noon-1 p.m., in Michels Ballroom
The vaccine is free to all SNC students. For SNC faculty, staff and spouses of employees covered by the SNC health insurance plan, the vaccine is covered. For employees without SNC health insurance, the cost is $35.

Upcoming testing of Campus Emergency Notification System (CENS)
Thursday, Sept. 28
The college will run a test of its Campus Emergency Notification System (CENS) on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. Two tests will be conducted, each five minutes in duration. The yearly tests help ensure that the system performs as expected and allows the college to fix any issues that arise.
SNC recently switched from Blackboard Connect to AlertAware for emergency notifications. Notifications from AlertAware will come via email from alertaware.com, via SMS from 723389, and via telephone from +1-743-300-8712 (from Danbury, N.C.).
