Last call to submit for MLK Day and Beloved Community Week
Friday, Dec. 8
Planning is underway for MLK Day (Jan. 15) and Beloved Community Week 2024 (Jan. 28-Feb. 3). In addition to events being offered by the MLK Day Committee, we are looking to provide an opportunity for SNC students, faculty and staff who are passionate about this work to share their experiences or expertise through additional events, activities, presentations and performances.
Staff/Students: MLK Day and Beloved Community Week offerings this year will focus on personal growth, building community, accountability, and honoring and engaging with Martin Luther King’s principles of non-violence and calls for social and racial justice. Please fill out this brief form for students/staff by Friday, Dec. 8, to share your ideas!
Faculty: Faculty Development hopes to showcase SNC research, scholarship and creative works that forward Dr. King’s commitments. The sub-focus will be on the intersection of gender and sexuality with the goal of bringing about a more just and equitable world. We seek brief 10-20 minute presentations (plus time for questions and discussion). Please submit your idea for a presentation by Friday, Dec. 8, to help us place you on the schedule. The form includes a variety of potential topics your idea may intersect with.
For info: Staff/students should contact heather.butterfield@snc.edu; faculty should contact deirdre.egan@snc.edu or eric.hagedorn@snc.edu
